UrbanByNature The Global Programme for Urban Nature Pioneers delivered its next webinar in December 2020:

"Indicators to assess impacts of Nature-Based Solutions in cities"

Date: 4th December 2020

Time: 13:00-14:00 PM (CET)

In this webinar, we continued with STEP3/PRIORITISE of the UrbanByNature program. The participants were introduced to NBS Indicators by the University of A Coruña (Spain).  They explained the process of comprehensive evaluation of indicators contributing to a holistic evidence-base for the multi-functional benefits that nature-based solutions can provide in relation to climate change, health and well-being, social cohesion and sustainable development in urban areas. Two cities presented case studies to the participants: a dashboard of NBS indicators developed for Glasgow (Scotland), and the results of the citizens’ geosurvey in Tbilisi (Georgia).

Speakers for this webinar were:

  • Adina Dumitru, Director, Sustainability Specialization Campus, University of A Coruña
  • Rania Sermpezi, GIS Technical Project Officer, Glasgow City Council
  • Mamuka Gvilava, GIS and RS Consulting Center GeoGraphic, Tbilisi, Georgia

The webinar was moderated by Philipp LaHaela Walter (ICLEI Europe) and Shushanik Asmaryan (CENS, Armenia)
