The webinar will be moderated by Alice Reil and Daniela Rizzi (ICLEI Europe) as well as Sophia Picarelli (ICLEI South America).
 
Contents of the webinar:

  • co-designing a robust impact assessment framework for nature-based solutions that can capture their multifunctionality;
  • a brief overview of the principles that should guide indicator selection and a brief summary of the state-of-the-art evidence on effectiveness of NBS;
  • a few common fears regarding evaluation;
  • aligning monitoring and evaluation of NBS with cities ‘strategic objectives and efforts to reach SDGs;
  • opportunities for citizen participation in impact assessment;
  • Brazilian ongoing initiatives around nature-based solutions and indicators;
  • the experiences of Brasília (Brazil) with the Economic Ecological Zoning, the Digital Environmental Information System and its relation to indicators and nature-based solutions;
  • the experiences of Glasgow (Scotland) with  the Open Space Strategy and its  alignment with the SDGs, about the employed assessment methods (both qualitative and quantitative)  and the opportunities arising for citizen engagement with evaluation
