Connecting Nature will participate in Greencities 2021, the Forum of Urban Intelligence and Sustainability that will take place on September 29-30th in Malaga (Spain).

Greencities is the reference meeting for all agents involved in the construction of smart and sustainable cities in Spain.

Technology and sustainability are its mainstays. Institutions, public administrations, companies and professionals come together in Greencities to design the cities of the future. From a humanistic vision of the digital society, Greencities invites you to cocreate projects, establish contacts, count ideas, offer services, approach new technologies and obtain inspiration. Greencities is the only event in the sector that offers a unique, real opportunity to network between companies and cities, that is, to design the future together.

Our project partner Bioazul will have a stand dedicated to Connecting Nature, informing all attendees about the work carried out within the project as well as the latest news (e.g., consultation on draft Nature-Based Economy White Paper, Connecting Nature Enterprise Platform, etc.).

GREENCITIES 2020

Connecting Nature was also present in the last edition of this international congress. Despite the pandemic, the 2020 edition ended up with very positive figures:

  • 1560 professional assistants.
  • 280 entities represented.
  • 220 experts.
  • 53 municipalities and 20 mayors.
  • 28 scientific communications.
  • 20 countries represented.

A substantial number of local companies and institutions visited Bioazul’s stand - dedicated to Connecting Nature - to learn how to design, implement and manage nature-based solutions in cities. As part of the virtual side of the event, Bioazul engaged with several entities outside Spain to get to know each other and establish future collaborations. Examples of these entities were the Ministry of Education and Innovation of Quebec (Canada) and the State Unitary Enterprise Smart City of Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
