UrbanByNature The Global Programme for Urban Nature Pioneers delivered its next webinar in October 2020:
"Is there a framework for Nature-based Solutions in your city?"
Date: 2nd October 2020
Time: 2-3:15 PM (CET)
In this webinar, we proceeded to STEP3/PRIORITISE of the UrbanByNature program. In the webinar the participants were introduced to the common Connecting Nature Framework for NBS in urban areas, which is a powerful process tool to help cities and other organisations navigate the path towards the large scale implementation of nature-based solutions. Participants considered how to frame NBS priorities by learning from the clustering activities of the city of Malaga (Spain). Last but not least, participants heard about how the management of municipal forests is been applied as NBS for climate resilience in Tbilisi (Georgia). We were excited to have these cities working on nature-based solutions share how they have identified their city’s priority to engage in NBS actions.
Speakers for this webinar were:
- Kato Allaert, DRIFT, The Netherlands
- Cristian García-Espina Adank, ProMalaga, Malaga, Spain
- Saba Pipia, Deputy Head, Department of Environment, Tbilisi City Hall, Georgia
The webinar was moderated by Philipp LaHaela Walter (ICLEI Europe) and Shushanik Asmaryan (CENS, Armenia)
